Guiding Pathways

At Guiding Pathways we believe that knowledge is power and that knowledge can change your life as a caregiver. Our focus is educating parents, caregivers and staff on the principles of behavior analysis to help their child/client grow by increasing their communication, self-help and social skills. We also focus on decreasing or eliminating challenging behaviors through the process of identifying the root cause of those behaviors. Whether your child or client is neurodivergent and on a waitlist to receive services, on a waitlist to receive a diagnosis, or is typically developing, we can help!

Who We Are

Founded in 2021, Guiding Pathways has a passion for helping others. For creator Alycia Lester, seeing the waiting lists that local ABA companies have for kids, teenagers and adults to receive behavior services was heartbreaking. What were caregivers supposed to do while they waited months for their child/client to receive the care they needed and finally reach the top of that list? The desire to help as many families as possible during that difficult time is what drove Alycia to create Guiding Pathways. It has allowed our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to use their skill sets and certification to help families like yours get a jumpstart on your child’s growth and success. You don’t have to sit back and wait for that top-of-the-list spot and hope things don’t become more challenging in the meantime. Get the help you and your child need today!

Ways We Help

Individual Caregiver/ Parent Consultation

If you’re looking for the greatest amount of support, our individual consultation services will fit your needs best. You’ll complete an intake packet and an interview with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to identify your top priorities and concerns. Together, we will set goals for yourself and your child while meeting weekly* with your BCBA via Zoom. You’ll learn the foundational skills of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and have individualized interventions to assist with your child’s progress. With access to 1:1 training from your BCBA, you will receive the highest level of support and feel confident in implementing your new strategies with your child. Get in touch with our team today for more information.

Small Group Caregiver Consultation

A small cohort of caregivers (between 3-8 families) will conduct weekly trainings via Zoom with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to learn the foundational skills of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Here you’ll learn universal strategies for a wide variety of topics such as increasing communication and social skills, toilet training, reducing tantrums, building life skills and more. When possible, parents will be placed in cohorts with other families with similarly aged children so weekly consultations can be tailored to the groups’ needs. Individualized intervention packages cannot be built in small group consultations. Contact us for more details.

Staff Training

We offer initial onboarding training and continuing education for groups of staff members who work with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. Most commonly, we train daycares, ID/DD residential placements, and businesses who employ individuals with developmental disabilities on the basic principles of Behavior Analysis to create environments where the individuals can thrive under your staff's care. These universal strategies will be taught to competency utilizing interspersed checks for understanding and a post-test certificate.
